The India Project

It’s official. Our club is excited to roll out our first international service event in the PNG Empowers Series, The India Project. Spots are limited, so sign up today.

In Spring 2013, 25 individuals will be selected to fly halfway across the globe to Shimoga, India to participate in two projects:

  • School restoration project. We are partnering with two other Rotary clubs to raise over $15,000 for public schools in Shimoga, India. This includes installing safe drinking water facilities, basic furniture, computer equipment, and science equipment.
  • Polio eradication. Come join us for National Immunization Day, a day sponsored by the Government of India to vaccinate millions of children across India in a fight against polio. India is close to being polio-free and just needs that final push!

Interested in coming to India? How about donating to our cause? Download our Information Packet to learn all about the details and contact Jennifer de Leon, our International service Chair, for more information.

Individuals wanting to participate should complete the sign-up sheet (Appendix A of the information packet) and submit a $250 non-refundable deposit to Jennifer to reserve a spot as soon as possible.
